Established as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 1992, Community Partners offers expert guidance, essential services, and a strong dose of passion to help foster, launch, and grow creative solutions to community challenges.

For more than 25 years, hundreds of individuals, groups, foundations and other institutions have worked with Community Partners to create new nonprofit projects, establish coalitions, and manage major philanthropic initiatives to benefit the region. Their mission is to accelerate ideas into action to advance the public good.

Through its Fiscal Sponsorship Program, Community Partners provides the structure and a full range of administrative and financial services that allow nonprofit projects large and small to get up and running quickly, keeping leaders focused on mission. Their staff also offers invaluable guidance, training, and connections that help project leaders achieve greater impact.

The mission of the United States Bartenders Guild (USBG) is to empower bartenders to take charge of their careers. This is accomplished through working with committed partners to enrich the career advancement of USBG members through peer-to-peer learning, expert instruction, service projects, and competition. Since knowledge is power, USBG chapters hold cocktail competitions, sponsor intimate seminars with internationally recognized brand representatives, and forge relationships between top bar talent in 35 cities and counting. The USBG offers all members opportunities to compete, travel around the world, and spread knowledge in the pursuit of elevating the craft of bartending.

The Los Angeles Chapter of the USBG (USBGLA) holds the distinction of being the first chapter established in the United States. The United Kingdom Bartenders' Guild of London was the origin of the United States Bartenders Guild. In 1948 a small group of Southern California Bartenders who were "overseas" members founded a local branch of that organization in Los Angeles. Then, as now, the organization was devoted to professional, fraternal, and social activities. 

Soon the California branch undertook a full range of activities, including the annual Cocktail Competition, with the winners being awarded the privilege to compete in the International Cocktail Competitions.  

By September 1961, the California group had grown large enough to form an independent organization. That year the International Bartenders' Association (I.B.A.) granted a charter to the United States Bartenders' Guild (U.S.B.G.) as the exclusive affiliate of the I.B.A. in the United States. Six years later, competing against champions from two continents, a member of the U.S.B.G. was chosen winner of the 1967 World Championship.  

Guild membership is a valuable asset that provides recognition to and validation of the highly qualified professional bartender.
